Last weekend we headed out in busy village of Uppermill in Saddleworth to film they yearly Yanks event. This very popular annual event was first staged 16 years ago to celebrate the local filming of the Hollywood movie "YANKS" in 1979 starring Richard Gere. Many locations in Uppermill and neighbouring Dobcross were used in the film. Just like the movie set, living history reenactors and vintage military vehicles owners recreate an atmosphere of Wartime Britain. We even managed to capture a fly-by from some authentic WWII aircraft.
Naturally, this is a great event to film so we took the opportunity to head out with our cameras to produce a highlights video of the day. It gave us an opportunity to test out our latest camera system, a Black Magic Ursa mini 4.6K and the results were fantastic. Everything was shot in 4k at 50fps which was outputted at 50% speed on a 25p timeline to create some lovely slow motion effects. You can see the little video that we produced from the day below.
